Organizing Your Sports Page: Efficiently Using Technology to Follow your Favorite Teams

Your best friend calls you and lets you know the best player on your team has been traded, injured or did something that has the sports world buzzing. You missed it and the conversation turns either way. The first option which is the only option in this case is you act shocked this happened and ask as many questions as possible therefore your buddy does not have time to think the worst. What is the worst thing he can think of you at this moment? If you had the thought that this person really is not a die hard fan then you would be correct in your assumption. Questioning a friends fanhood is a serious matter one where they may be judged by his peers. Having your fanhood questioned is tough, but the second option this person had leads to more trouble and we all kno this guy. We will call this person the uninformed guy, as many of you may call me after reading the blog, who pretends to know about sports topics just to save face and fit in.  Never choose option two because your credibility will go down like Michael Spinx during a fight with Mike Tyson.

You never want your sports credentials tainted because your opinion on events suddenly does not matter if it ever did.  Not only is the office lounge ruined, going to parties and other functions will be unbearable while you listen to every arm chair quarterback spin their ignorance and you cannot say anything.  The length of time your opinion will spend in exile depend on your friends and the situation.  The most important tool you need in your arsenal is a smart phone or mobile device that has a high connection speed.

Resources: do not rely on one resource for you information. As CBS found out sharing misinformation is just as deadly as speaking out in ignorance

Two resources that are a must have are listed below.  Using these sites you can subscribe and follow your favorite sports and teams 24 hours a day.
1. Twitter Account: follow up to the minute happenings in whatever sport you follow.

2. Livebinder: Livebinder is a site that allows you to organize your favorite analysis and clip it just as you would a notebook.

There are too many sights to list or you would be here all day.  The moral of the story is don't let your fan hood become the topic of any conversation.  If you have to leave the wife and kids a little to find out who leads the league in slugging percentage so you can look cool at the neighborhood Bar B Q they should be supportive and let you fill the knowledge.  If you have read this still believe the sportshow is completely off their rocker do not come crying when your buddies stop inviting you to functions because you thought the "Steroid Era" was a science fiction section at Barnes & Nobles
