Tajh Boyd Clutch in Clemson Comeback

 Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports
If there was any doubt of whether Tajh Boyd could stand in the pocket facing NFL style blitzes and make precision throws it was erased tonight in a dramatic come from behind victory over the LSU Tigers in the Chick Fil A Bowl.  Boyd completed 36-50 passes for 346 yards and two touchdown ad no throw was bigger than the 4th and 16 completion to DeAndre Hopkins in the game winning drive.

Tonight was a different Boyd than we saw versus South Carolina and the second half of the Florida State game earlier this year.  He had a confidence about him with every throw even when LSU defenders were swarming r knocking him to the ground. If NFL scouts picked up on anything tonight it was Boyd's toughness in the pocket.  On several attempts he was clobbered by NFL prospect Sam Montgomery only to get up and act as if that were part of the script.

I knew Tajh Boyd had talent but i had not seen a performance where he demonstrated that toughness you need to lead an NFL team.  For Clemson and ACC fans tonight's performance was a great win over one of the best programs in the SEC, and hopefully it was not the last we see of Tajh Boyd running Chad Morris offense.
