Tyler Lewis Gains Valuable Minutes in loss to Miami

Lorenzo Brown was not suited up to help NC State as the hosted Miami today, but little used back up point Guard Tyler Lewis made the most of his start dishing out 5 assists and scoring 14 points with 8 of his points coming from the free throw line.  While having Lorenzo Brown in the line up is obviously the best case scenario Lewis play today should give Gottfried confidence to play the freshman more often.

Lewis played 36 minutes today committing only one turnover and was not whistled for any fouls. A question for NC State has been what will they do if Brown gets into foul trouble?  Tyler Lewis answered that question today and will be an important piece to the puzzle for the Wolfpack as they work their way to the NCAA tournament.

NC state may have lost by one point today to Miami, but to blame Lorenzo Brown's absence as the reason they lost would be a mistake. The Wolfpack had every opportunity to win this game and Miami just made a great play at the end to come out on top.  There is no question NC state is better with Brown, but they are going to have to show they can handle this adversity without him if they want anyone outside the triangle to pick them to go far in March.
